Black Swan

It's no secret that I'm a terrible blogger as I hardly ever update, but after watching Black Swan I couldn't miss the occasion of sharing it with all of you. Some of you might have watched it already (it was released in the USA earlier this month) and some of you might not (it will not be released in Spain until the 28th of January), but for those who haven't seen it, this movie is definitely a MUST watch.
In other circumstances I might fear my judgment to be biased as Natalie Portman has always been one of my favorite actresses, but Black Swan is for sure not the case.

Natalie Portman’s performance is beyond perfection, the music (obviously) is extremely beautiful, as well as the make up, the lighting and how the film is shot. That not to talk about the dresses, as it was predictable that Kate and Laura Mulleavy from Rodarte would do a gorgeous job.

Natalie Portman has not only been endowed with the talent of acting but also possesses an irreproachable taste. It is obvious undeniable that she is full of grace, but above it all, I look up at her as a woman who shows the world that if you work hard, you can do it all. I see her as a role model, her intellectuality, the fact that she is a Harvard graduate (she contributed to a study on memory called "Frontal Lobe Activation During "Object Permanence" during her psychology studies at Harvard and after graduating she was guest lecturer at a Columbia University course in terrorism and counterterrorism) and studied, besides already speaking English and Hebrew, French, Japanese, German, and Arabic, and if all of that wasn’t enough, she also has a great sense of humor (see video here).

Well, after my ramblings and musings on the movie, I could not wish you all the best for the upcoming year, hope that it brings you all you ask for and great success in your goals. As for me, I will be working hard on mine to make them happen (and who knows, I might even become a better blogger!)

One lucky girl

What makes a girl happier than a package on the mail from one of your best friends? That package containing something by a genius called Marc Jacobs.

If I'm lucky for a reason that certainly is for the friends I have and, specially, because I was fortunate enough to meet one hell of a girl called Annie, who I couldn't admire more for all of her characteristics that make her so "her" and unique. For six years now my fondness for her hasn't stopped growing, not only is she beautiful and clever (UPenn!! She's greatly missed in Barcelona...) but she has impeccable style, while dressing and, let the pictures speak for themselves, while choosing the perfect present. Thanks Annie for the gorgeous package you sent me (she knows me well, I've wanted a Marc Jacobs bangle for a while now...).

P.D: The nail polish is American Apparel, beautiful colors, instant dry, and work great, give it a try!

Night out and SATC2

Yesterday night I went out with two friends to watch Sex and the City 2, which wasn’t released here in Spain until tomorrow, and well… what could I say? As some of you may know (see here: get carried away) I am a huge fan of the series, I actually have all of the seasons in DVD, and even though I can’t say the first movie was great, well, I liked it, and this one… not so much, I couldn’t really relate the characters from the movie with the ones in the series, like, where’s Miranda’s cynicism? And heels in the desert? Please, fashion is like the fifth main character, but there’s always a point that is too much, and there it was. But what impressed me the most were the Abu Dhabi ladies that where wearing the super fashion clothes underneath, hello? What was that about? Besides that, I had a good time, and I just can’t help to hope that, if they really make it into a third movie, they will “clean the mess” and make it a good movie for the sake of the real series followers and not for a new target public that is for whom the movie seemed to be for.

I decided to wear a Carrie inspired outfit (clearly, as it is probably her most famous ensemble) as I bought this skirt a while ago and I couldn't resist the occasion.

And here you see my lovely friends :) (both called Nuria, btw)

Skirt from Zara, Shoes from Blanco, Bracelet from a flea market in formentera, basic tank top.

It's all about mixing

I've never been the one to mix, I have to admit that I have always been kind of cautions when it comes to dressing. I never used to wear clothes that were any different from those who surrounded me, maybe I didn't have the inspiration it took, mainly I was ashamed of what others could say. But when I started blogging, or better, when I started seeing all of your blogs something changed. Inspiration comes from many sources, and though since I was ten years old I have avidly read fashion magazines, what definitely has inspired me the most is streetsyle, or, in other words, watching you all made me realize that there was nothing to be afraid of. I wear what I like and I express my mood and my personality that way, I'm not very extravagant or that different, I'm perfectly aware of that, but people of my surroundings seem more or less cut from the same pattern, and what if I don't fit there? It doesn't really bother. So here I am, it's not very original, it has probably been seen everywhere, but I'm mixing dots and stripes, and I like it!
My grandfather used to collect all kinds of stuff, it's so amazing what he had in this house.

On March came out the first number of Harper's Bazaar Spain and it was really good so I'm definitely going to buy it every month, this one is april's,though, which wasn't so good as the first one, but still.

These pictures were all taken in my grandma's garden at her house in the mountain. I love all of the flowers, the plants... so beautiful. I went there two days to chill out, 'cause you don't have any distractions there, even to buy bread you have to go to another town, (there's no internet either, of course) so it is the perfect place to relax or do nothing, though I admit that spending more time there would drive me crazy.
I was wearing skirt, belt and flats from Zara, Stripped shirt from H&M, and Scarf from Stradivarius

Let the birds sing and your imagination fly

Wearing AA skirt, Zara belt, tights and shirt.

Looks just like Spring is really coming now, Spring break is already here, and though I have tones of work to do, I'm gonna enjoy every minute of it. Partying of course, is a part of the equation. I had so much fun tonight, I'll probably update some pictures of it soon.

These are the words of the Popstars

Whenever I don't know what title to put, I'll just write the first lyrics that come to my mind... I've been listening a lot of the Rooneys lately :).
My boyfriend was gentle enough to take this pictures the other day, one day it is sunny, and the other it is snowing.. totally crazy, but not as crazy as I am for Spring and warm weather to really come (and stay). I'm tired of tights, coats and all that jazz, it's time of bare legs, skirts and sandals, so I'm sorry winter, you will have to let it go!

So you see that I'm not lying, this picture is from two weeks ago, totally insane right?

I love, love, love this top, it's so beautiful! And I'm also over the top with these rose earrings, they used to be my grandma's, but not anymore (sorry grandma!). She doesn't wear them now so she just gave them to me,isn't she the most adorable woman? :).

Top from Zara, shoes and blazer from Stradivarius, Bag and scarf from H&M.
